Adrian and Cornelia, the two minds behind Smarter Places, have been buying, renovating and selling properties in Richmond and Kingston since 2004. While Cornelia’s background is in interior design, Adrian is a keen DIY-er who used his background in IT and project management skills to manage the renovation projects.

After many years learning and honing their skills of discovering the hidden property gems, refurbishing them on a small budget and selling them for profit, they decided to offer their skills to others. And this is how Smarter Places have been born – with the main purpose of impartially advising the property owners on how to improve the appearance of their homes, either to sell them to purely to enjoy them more. And all done on a limited budget.

They believe that you don’t need a big budget in order to make your home a truly enjoyable place. Often just by re-arranging the existing furniture, de-cluttering the rooms, being smart with the lighting and painting can make a massive impact. Of course, if more square footage is needed, an extension to the existing property can be the right answer (subject to all planning consent and Building regulations), but always this should be balanced against the needs of the people living and the budget available. By offering impartial advice and helping  visualize how the changes proposed make an impact on the property, Cornelia and Adrian can achieve amazing results for home owners.
